Overview Horse Flats Campground is a small, high-country campground with 26 individual sites located off the Santa Clara Divide Road (3N17) in the Angeles National Forest and within the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument. Set at approximately 5,700 feet elevation, the campground provides a peaceful mountain setting surrounded by pine forest and granite outcroppings. Recreation The area offers a range of outdoor activities such as rock climbing & bouldering, hiking, nature viewing, photography, and scenic driving.
Sites at Horse Flats Campground are reserved through Recreation.gov. Sites here can be reserved in advance through the official system, and they are claimed fast — cancellations then trickle back all season, unannounced, at any hour of the day or night.
