Molalla campsites, sold out? Here's how spots come back.

Enjoy a scenic drive along the Molalla River, which offers easy river access and opportunities for picnicking, swimming, camping, whitewater boating and fishing. The Molalla River is one of the few undammed tributaries of the Willamette River and cuts a picturesque gorge on its way to the valley floor. The river was designated by Congress as a Wild and Scenic River in 2019, and is managed for its unique scenic, recreational, geological and cultural values.

How booking at Molalla works

Reservations for Molalla are made through Recreation.gov. In peak season, the most popular campgrounds are typically claimed within minutes of each release — which is why the park reads as "sold out" for most of the year.

Sold out is not final, though. People book far ahead and plans change, so cancellations return to the official calendar throughout the season — with no announcement, at any hour. A cancelled site is bookable by whoever sees it first.
