Originally called Brown’s Hole, this is a remote valley along the Green River. Known as a haven for outlaws such as Butch Cassidy during the late 19th century, it is now the location of many scenic and recreational opportunities. Full of history and adventure this is an excellent area for your next trip, featuring the John Jarvie Historic Ranch, several campgrounds, sections of the Green River to float, equestrian and OHV trails, as well as excellent fly fishing await.
Reservations for Browns Park Recreation Area are made through Recreation.gov. In peak season, the most popular campgrounds are typically claimed within minutes of each release — which is why the park reads as "sold out" for most of the year.
Sold out is not final, though. People book far ahead and plans change, so cancellations return to the official calendar throughout the season — with no announcement, at any hour. A cancelled site is bookable by whoever sees it first.
