Overview This campground is located high up on the plateau at 5,760 feet and overlooks the Mills and Mesteño canyons offers a basecamp for a variety of recreational activities. Popular with hunters and rock climbers, the 8 unit camping area can become full in the peak season. All campsites have picnic tables, a standing grill, and a fire pit, and three of the campsites offer Equestrian corrals.
Sites at Mills Rim Campground are reserved through Recreation.gov. Sites here can be reserved in advance through the official system, and they are claimed fast — cancellations then trickle back all season, unannounced, at any hour of the day or night.
