Golf Tee-Time Openings, Measured

One page, the whole log. This post replaces our first three golf posts and republishes the tee-time scanner's complete record — 111 confirmed openings, 94 distinct course-dates, 24 courses — with the method stated and the window printed on every number.

Quick answers

What counts as a golf opening?
A watched course-date that had no bookable inventory on the GolfNow/TeeOff channel in one poll and has bookable inventory in the next — and still has it on an immediate confirmation re-fetch. First sight of any course-date is a baseline and never alerts, so restarts cannot re-announce old inventory.
How many tee-time openings has the scanner caught?
111 confirmed alerts covering 94 distinct course-dates at 24 courses in 8 metro areas, between Oct 30, 08:50 AM ET and Nov 02, 08:28 PM ET. Alerts outnumber distinct course-dates because sheets flicker: a course-date that opens, closes and opens again alerts each time.
Are most openings same-day?
Yes: 61 of 94 distinct course-dates (65%) were detected on the day of play. The remaining {GOLF_FUTURE} distinct openings were for future dates — a real minority, up to 13 days out.
Why did the earlier golf posts disappear?
Because they leaned on the same early snapshot far more than their labels admitted: the 'second' and 'third' readings republished substantially the same window and numbers while describing growth the log didn't show. That is not this blog's standard, so the three are retired and redirect here — one living page, recomputed from the full log at every build.
What did the openings cost?
Listed price ranges in the log run from $27.99 to $449 across all openings — the marketplace's own ranges for the returned inventory, per opening, in the table below.

The log's center of gravity is same-day — TPC-area sheets reopen on the day, and sometimes far beyond it.

Most distinct openings in our log were same-day, and the rest rewarded whoever was already watching. Our scanner reads the TeeOff channel every few minutes and texts you when a sold-out date gains bookable times that survive confirmation.

Proof, from our own scanners: 5211 confirmed openings across 126 campgrounds since Oct 29, 2026 — each one re-verified before logging. See the live cancellation index.

When the golf scanner launched, we published its first readings fast — three posts in three days, labeled first, second and third readings. Checked against the log, those posts leaned on the same early snapshot far more than their labels admitted: the later two republished substantially the same window and the same numbers while describing a sample that had grown. That is not the standard this blog promises, so the three are retired and redirect here. What follows is the scanner's complete record to date, on one page, with every figure computed from the log at build time. When the log grows, this page is the one that gets updated.

What counts as a golf opening

A watched course-date that had no bookable inventory on the GolfNow/TeeOff channel in one poll and has bookable inventory in the next — and still has it on an immediate confirmation re-fetch. First sight of any course-date is a baseline and never alerts, so restarts cannot re-announce old inventory. The watched set is 26 courses on the GolfNow/TeeOff marketplace — the channel our feasibility work verified as the readable one — polling hot courses' near dates roughly every five minutes and the rest of the sheet roughly every fifteen.

What the log supports

1. Same-day is the center of gravity. 61 of 94 distinct course-dates (65%) were detected on the day of play. Cancelled morning times return as same-day inventory — tee-time recycling, in this window, is a same-day market wearing a two-week booking window.

2. But future dates are real. 33 distinct openings were for future dates, up to 13 days out — including World Golf Village - King & Bear Golf Course for Thu Nov 12. Same-day dominance is not same-day exclusivity, and a standing watch is precisely the tool that catches the minority that arrives with planning time attached.

3. Detections cluster in the evening. 52 of the 111 alerts landed between 5 and 8 p.m. Eastern — consistent with afternoon cancellations ahead of next-day play. That is an observation about this window, not a law.

4. Concentration is a watch-list fact, not a market ranking. Scottsdale–Phoenix produced 37 of the 111 alerts because that is where the watched famous sheets and late-October demand sit. The areas we watch, in the weeks we have watched them, are what this table can describe.

What we won't claim yet

No per-course reopen rankings — alert counts mix genuine recycling, sheet flicker and our own watch choices, and the golf closure log (the completed life cycles that power the campsite survival tables) has not reached a publishable per-course sample. No opening rates per course-day — the honest denominator, how many watched course-dates were genuinely sold out at each poll, is not stated cleanly by this log. No seasonality claims from a four-day, late-October window in 8 metro areas, at listed prices from $27.99 to $449. Each withheld claim names the sample that would unlock it, and the counting that produces that sample continues in public.

How to use the record

Build the day around the same-day tilt. With 65% of distinct openings arriving on the day of play, the rational posture is a standing watch on your target courses, a bag that can move today, and a price ceiling decided before the text — the cheapest slots inside any opening's range are taken first. Keep the future dates watched anyway. 33 distinct future-date openings are the minority that rewards patience; they cost nothing to wait for behind the same watch. Expect famous sheets to flicker, not open once. The Champions Course at TPC Scottsdale — 9 alerts across 5 distinct dates — is the pattern at its purest: one manual check samples one state of a moving sheet; the watch samples all of them.

One page, the whole log, recomputed at every build. That is the deal the retired posts should have offered from the start.

Frequently asked questions

How does itOpened detect a tee-time opening?

The scanner polls the GolfNow/TeeOff marketplace for each watched course-date (26 courses; hot courses' near dates roughly every 5 minutes, other dates roughly every 15). A no-inventory to has-inventory transition must survive an immediate confirmation re-fetch before an alert is logged.

How many tee-time openings have you found in total?

111 confirmed alerts between Oct 30, 08:50 AM ET and Nov 02, 08:28 PM ET, covering 94 distinct course-dates at 24 courses in 8 metro areas — the scanner's complete record, republished on this one page and recomputed from the log at build time.

Are most tee-time openings really same-day?

In this log, yes: 61 of 94 distinct openings (65%) were for the day they were detected. That is a finding across a late-October sample — stated as a finding, not yet as a seasonal law.

Why did the earlier golf posts disappear?

The first, second and third 'readings' posts leaned on the same early snapshot far more than their labels admitted — the later posts described growth the underlying numbers didn't show. We retired all three; they redirect to this page, which carries the complete record with its window and sample sizes printed.

Why won't you rank courses by how often they reopen?

Because alert counts mix genuine recycling with sheet flicker and with our own watch-list choices, and the golf closure log — completed opening life cycles, the basis of every campsite ranking we publish — has not reached a publishable per-course sample yet. When it does, the ranking gets its own post.
