Two days ago we published our tee-time scanner's first readings and labeled them, repeatedly, as first readings. The log has since roughly doubled: 49 confirmed openings covering 43 distinct course-dates at 22 courses in 7 metro areas. This post republishes the full table at its new size, checks which first-reading observations survived contact with more data — and keeps the same label discipline: readings, sized to their sample, not trends.

That flicker is the market: a single check sees one state of a moving sheet. Our scanner reads the TeeOff channel every few minutes and texts you when a sold-out date gains bookable times that survive confirmation.
Proof, from our own scanners: 2161 confirmed openings across 110 campgrounds since Oct 29, 2026 — each one re-verified before logging. See the live cancellation index.

Our first golf post made a promise implicit in its label: first readings are a beginning, and beginnings get checked. The scanner has kept polling the GolfNow/TeeOff marketplace for its 26 watched courses — hot courses' near dates roughly every five minutes, the rest of the sheet roughly every fifteen, every candidate opening confirmed on an immediate re-fetch before it counts — and the log it produces has roughly doubled since that post. Second readings are where a young dataset either confirms its first shape or corrects it. Ours, mostly, confirmed — with one honest change in emphasis, on concentration, that the bigger sample makes visible.
49 confirmed alerts, collapsed to 43 distinct course-dates (a course-date that opens, closes and opens again counts once here, and alerts again in the log):

The first readings' headline observation was that tee-time recycling is mostly a same-day market: cancelled morning slots and released hot-deal inventory return on the day, not next week. At roughly double the sample, it held — 29 of 43 distinct course-dates, 67%, were detected on the day of play. Two days is still not a season, and late October is still overseed-and-shoulder season in most of the watched metros; but an observation that survives a doubling, unchanged in direction and similar in size, has earned one notch more confidence than it had. We state it now as the scanner's consistent reading to date — still not as a law of golf sheets.
The larger sample makes the geography plainer. Scottsdale–Phoenix accounts for 14 of the 43 distinct course-dates, and the single most repetitive sheet in the log remains The Champions Course at TPC Scottsdale: 7 alerts across just 3 distinct dates, a sheet that opens, closes and opens again inside the same day. Two cautions ride on that observation. First, concentration partly reflects our own watch list — the courses we chose to watch are famous desert and Florida sheets, so their share of openings is partly a mirror of the registry, not purely of the market. Second, repeat alerts on one course-date measure flicker, not volume of distinct inventory: seven alerts on three dates is a sheet in motion, not seven tee times for the taking at once. Both cautions were true at first-reading size; the bigger sample makes them worth printing again, louder.

No course rankings by recycling speed — golf closure data, the completed life cycles that power the campsite survival tables, is still accumulating and has not reached a publishable per-course sample. No opening rates per course-day — the denominator depends on how many watched course-dates were genuinely sold out at each poll, a figure this log does not yet state cleanly, and a rate without an honest denominator is a decoration. No seasonal claims — this window is late October into the first hours of November, in 7 metro areas, at listed prices from $35 to $350. Each of those claims gets its post when, and only when, its sample exists — the same discipline that kept a golf post out of an earlier content wave when the log held five alerts, and that published the campsite tomorrow bucket only when it filled in.
Plan for same-day, watch for future dates. With 67% of distinct openings arriving on the day of play, the winning posture is a standing watch plus a bag that can move today — while the minority of future-date openings rewards the same watch running quietly in the background for weeks. Expect famous sheets to flicker, not open once. A course-date that re-opens repeatedly punishes the single manual check and rewards the persistent watch; checking TPC Scottsdale once at breakfast samples one state of a sheet that changed again by lunch. Set your ceiling before the text. Returned inventory in this log spans $35 to $350, and the cheapest slots inside any opening's range are the first taken — a price decided in advance is a booking; a price debated is a story about a booking.
First readings: a smaller table, one same-day tilt, zero rankings. Second readings: the tilt held, the concentration sharpened, the rankings still withheld. The counting continues in public, and the third readings will be published the same way — with the table, the sample size, and the label the data has earned.

The scanner polls the GolfNow/TeeOff marketplace for each watched course-date (26 courses; hot courses' near dates roughly every 5 minutes, other dates roughly every 15). A no-inventory to has-inventory transition must survive an immediate confirmation re-fetch before an alert is logged.
49 confirmed alerts between Oct 30, 08:50 AM ET and Nov 01, 03:03 AM ET, covering 43 distinct course-dates at 22 courses in 7 metro areas — roughly double the first-readings sample published two days earlier.
In both readings so far, yes: 29 of 43 distinct openings (67%) in the current log were for the day they were detected. That is a consistent reading across a doubling sample in late October — stated as a reading, not yet as a seasonal law.
Because alert counts mix genuine recycling with sheet flicker and with our own watch-list choices, and the golf closure log — completed opening life cycles, the basis of every campsite ranking we publish — has not reached a publishable per-course sample yet. When it does, the ranking gets its own post.
